Algo muy parecido al buen britpop/brittrock con acento americano y sonido y mood con tendencias e influencias europeas (revisen la portada, los diálogos en alemán intercalados) es el regalo que da a nuestros oidos esta banda de New Jersey compuesta por Jeff Bridi (voz, bajo), Mick Bohensky (guitarra, voz), Dan Holmes (teclados, voz) y Dave Wilson (batería, percusión).

El disco abre de forma excelente con la acústica We Need To Find A Balance In Between, siguiendo con el sonido ambiental de la lacónica Birth y el pop rock con reminiscencia de britpop de los 80’s de la muy radiable One Last Love Song marcando así la pauta de este muy buen disco, incluyendo los elementos y distorsiones de fines de los 90’s en tracks como Coming Down

En mi humilde opinión, habría que desarrollar un poco la voz, que tiene un timbre agradable y buenos momentos (en un par de ocasiones, sin embargo, sentí que no llegaba o bien se estaba escapando a los niveles requeridos) también tuve la sensación de que la mezcla no ayudó en ciertos momentos.

Muy disfrutable para los que han visto la evolución del rock y rock-pop de los 80’s a la actualidad. Si quieres saber cómo se escucharía hoy día lo rescatable del rock-pop de los 80’s hoy tienes una excelente muestra.

Ojalá que de Jersey salieran más Bodys y menos Bon Jovis….

Very similar to good brittpop/brittrock with an American accent, sound and mood with European taste and influence (check the cover art, background dialogues in German, etc.) is the gift-to-your-ears brought by this Jersey band, with Jeff Bridi (vocals, bass), Mick Bohensky (guitar, vocals), Dan Holmes (keyboards, vocals) and Dave Wilson (drums, percussion).

The CD opens superbly with the acoustic We Need To Find A Balance In Between, followed by the ambient sound of the laconic Birth and the pop rock with 80’s brittpop reminiscences of the radio-friendly One Last Love Song setting the mood of this superb CD, including the 90’s elements and guitar distortions of tracks like Coming Down.

IMHO, the voice has to be developed a little bit, it has a nice tone and good moments (sometimes, I felt like the voice didn’t reach the notes well or it was outdoing the required levels) I also had the sensation that the mixing didn’t helped at certain moments. Though, the joy of listening to such creativity and freshness outcomes this issue (if it exists for you).

A very enjoyable material for those who has seen 80’s rock and rock-pop evolution to date. If you want to know how the best of 80’s rock-pop (very few material) should sound today, you have an excellent sample in thethinhour.

Jersey should bring us more Bodys and less Bon Jovis…..
