Get some music last week. Even when the US dollar was at 13.30 pesos (shoot).
4:13 Dream Seems like Robert Smith is doing the same old thing in The Cure’s latest album: it’s almost no fun though. I don’t like to think on negative things: the use of more guitar and guitar effects gives the album an interesting twist and feel, overall, it has a lot of energy and somehow is a comeback to past glories: fairly good album. The Cure
The Devil, You + Me The Notwist, with its metal background enters the alt-electronic-pop seriously and with an interesting album, not enough to be a masterpiece, but very enjoyable at some points… listen to Gloomy Planets and the contrast with On Planet Off.
The Hawk is Howling Mogwai also is back from their experiments on Mr. Beast, for example, returning to a more instrumental post-rock full of soundscapes and noise… cool, but not enough to be the revelation this year… It’s Mogwai, it can’t fail us….
A Hundred Million Suns Finally, Snow Patrol has found their path to commercial success (hopefully without the associated spoiling) with A Hundred Million Suns… a great album full of nice songs. Maybe it’s because of moods or something, but this was my favorite album out of the 4 i bought for this year-ending.
